Twitch channel points help

How to Refund Channel Points on Twitch

Reject the redemption in your rewards queue and Twitch returns the points to the viewer. The queue opens from the pop-out icon on the Activity Feed in your Twitch dashboard, and your mods can open it from chat. Only redemptions still waiting in the queue can be refunded, so a reward set to skip the queue can’t be.

Refund a redemption

  1. 1

    Open the rewards queue

Custom reward redemptions show in the Activity Feed on your Twitch dashboard. Select its pop-out icon to open the rewards queue.

  2. 2

    Find the request

The queue lists the custom reward requests waiting for you. You can also view them by the viewer who redeemed.

  3. 3

    Select Reject

Twitch returns the points to the viewer. Choose Mark as Complete instead for rewards you’ve done.

Mods can do this for you. They can reject redemptions, refund points and pause redemptions from the same queue: type /requests in chat on desktop or web, or click the Channel Points reward balloon in chat. Twitch’s help only covers the queue on desktop and web, so if you stream from a phone, a mod at a computer is the easy way to handle refunds.

When you can’t refund

  • The redemption isn’t waiting anymore. Refunds only work while a redemption sits in the queue. That rules out ones you’ve marked complete, and rewards set to skip the requests queue: Twitch completes those the moment they’re redeemed. Leave skip off on rewards you might need to refund.
  • You want to hand out points. Twitch doesn’t let streamers give bonus points to chosen viewers, reset points, or see a viewer’s balance.

Blerp channel point rewards

Twitch rewards can’t play audio on their own. With Blerp, each redeem plays a sound, a TTS message or a video on your stream through Blerp’s browser source, and Blerp creates the rewards on your Twitch channel for you.

Blerp rewards are Twitch custom rewards, so the same queue applies. Auto Fulfilled “by Blerp” is on by default: Blerp marks each redemption complete as soon as it sends it to your stream. To review and refund Blerp redemptions yourself, turn it off in Settings under Twitch Channel Points. Redemptions then wait in your queue, where Reject refunds the viewer.

Other channel points questions

Twitch turns Channel Points on for monetized streamers, which means finishing Twitch’s creator onboarding. An Affiliate invite alone isn’t enough, and it can take up to 24 hours to show up.

How many rewards can I have?

Twitch’s current limit is 50 rewards.

How do I slow down or stop a reward?

Give a custom reward a cooldown (1 minute to 7 days) or a limit per stream or per viewer. To take a break, use Pause redemptions in the rewards queue.

How do viewers earn points?

By watching live, following, joining raids and keeping a watch streak. Subscribers earn points faster while they watch.
