Chat commands

Chat Sound Commands viewers type !bonk, your stream bonks

Most chat bots answer a command with text. Blerp's commands make your stream do something: play a sound, read a message in a TTS voice, pop a video meme or fire an alert, right when a viewer types the command. Blerp chat commands are in limited beta. Ask for access in our Discord; Blerp Unlimited is required to create commands.

What a Blerp chat command can do

  • Play a sound

!bonk plays a bonk on stream. Pick any sound from the library or upload your own.

  • Read a message out loud

Everything after the command becomes the input, so !tts hello chat gets read in the voice you chose.

  • Show a video or alert

Play a video meme or one of your alerts when the command is used.

  • Reply in chat

Answer the command with a message in chat, on its own or along with a sound or alert.

  • Who can use it

Everyone, or only you, your mods, subscribers or VIPs.

  • Cooldowns

Stop spam with a cooldown: after a command runs, nobody can use it again until the cooldown ends.

Three ways to match

  • Chat command

An exact !command as the first word, like !bonk. Text after it goes to the alert, like a TTS message.

  • Starts with a word

A first word with no ! needed, like gg or hi.

  • Contains a phrase

Whole words anywhere in a message, like let's go, so chat sets off a sound without trying.

One set of commands for every chat

Your commands work in Twitch, Kick, YouTube, TikTok LIVE, Rumble and X chat at the same time, so you set them up once even if you multistream. Chat replies post on Twitch, Kick, YouTube and X; on TikTok LIVE and Rumble the sound or alert still plays, without a reply.

You can have up to 20 commands per channel. Creating them is part of Blerp Unlimited.

Keep your moderation bot

Blerp's commands don't filter spam, run timers or take song requests. Keep Fossabot, Nightbot or whichever bot handles that, and give Blerp the commands that make your stream react.

Questions

Is it free?

Creating chat commands requires limited beta access and Blerp Unlimited. Playing sounds from the Blerp extension, where viewers spend Bits or Blerp currency, is free to set up. Free sound alerts

Can viewers type their own TTS message?

Yes. With a chat command, everything after the command goes to the alert, so !tts followed by a message reads that message in the voice you picked.

Can I stop one viewer spamming a sound?

Give the command a cooldown. After it runs, nobody can use it again until the cooldown ends.

Does it work if I stream on Kick and YouTube at once?

Yes. The same commands work in each chat you've linked and turned on in Integrations.
