Blerp Component or Panel: Which One Should You Use?

Blerp Banner

If you're adding Blerp to your Twitch channel, you’ve probably seen the option to use it as a panel or a component. Both are great, but depending on how you want viewers to interact with your sound alerts, one might give you better results.

Let’s break down the difference!

TL;DR

  • Panels show up in your About section—good for static access.
  • Components show up on-screen during the stream—great for live interaction.
  • Both show up in Twitch chat for mobile viewers.
  • Blerp as a component = higher engagement.

What’s a Twitch Panel?

A panel appears in the About section of your Twitch channel, underneath your video player. It’s always visible when someone scrolls down, whether you're live or offline. Panels are great for displaying static info like your schedule, donation links, or an extension like Blerp.

When you add Blerp as a panel, viewers can interact with the extension to play sounds. It’s a reliable option, but it’s not front and center during your livestream.

What’s a Twitch Component?

A component shows up over your stream video, typically on the right-hand side when viewers hover over the screen. It’s interactive and directly tied to the live experience. That means your viewers can click and trigger sound alerts without leaving the stream or scrolling down to find the panel.

When you add Blerp as a component, the soundboard is just one click away, right where the action is happening.

What About Mobile Viewers?

Good news: both the Blerp panel and component will appear in Twitch chat on mobile. This means mobile viewers can still access your soundboard and play Blerps regardless of which one you choose.

Why We Recommend Using the Blerp Component

We’ve seen streamers see a noticeable increase in engagement when they add Blerp as a component. Since it’s more visible and easier to access during the stream, viewers are more likely to interact and play sounds in real time.

If you're all about enhancing your chat’s energy and making your stream more interactive, adding Blerp as a component is the way to go.
