TikTok LIVE Emotes what chat shows, and what an extension adds on desktop
TikTok LIVE chat shows TikTok's own emoji and a creator's subscriber emotes, and that's it. On desktop, the Blerp extension adds 7TV and FFZ emotes and the creator's Blerp emotes to the same chat.
What TikTok shows on its own
- TikTok's standard emoji, for everyone.
- Custom emotes a creator with LIVE Subscription offers to subscribers, in that creator's LIVE.
- No 7TV, BTTV or FFZ: those services don't cover TikTok at all.
What the Blerp extension adds
- 7TV and FFZ global emotes as pictures in TikTok LIVE chat on desktop.
- The creator's Blerp emotes, when they have some.
- BTTV emotes stay as names: TikTok blocks BTTV's picture host.
- Only on tiktok.com in desktop Chrome or Firefox; the TikTok app shows text.

Open a TikTok LIVE on tiktok.com, press the Blerp button, open the menu and switch on Chat emotes.

7TV and FFZ emote names in chat turn into pictures.
For creators
Blerp emotes you add show in your TikTok LIVE chat for desktop viewers with the extension, and play in your TikTok LIVE alerts for everyone: gifts can trigger them like sounds. Set up TikTok LIVE alerts on Blerp first; the emotes come with the same account.

Does 7TV work on TikTok?
7TV's own extension doesn't cover TikTok. The Blerp extension shows 7TV's global emotes in TikTok LIVE chat on desktop.
Can I use emotes in the TikTok app?
Only TikTok's emoji and subscriber emotes. Browser extensions don't run in the app.
Is it free?
Yes. The extension and chat emotes are free; Chat emotes is off until you switch it on.
