Why Isn't My OBS Outputting Sound From Blerp?

This is the culprit most of the time. By default, OBS doesn't automatically output browser source audio to your stream. If your Blerp browser source is set to "Monitor Only" or "Monitor Off," you'll either hear sounds yourself but viewers won't or nobody hears anything.

Fix:

  1. In OBS, find Blerp in your Audio Mixer (bottom of screen). If it's not visible, right-click the Blerp browser source → Properties → check "Control audio via OBS" → OK.

  2. Click the gear icon next to Blerp in the Audio Mixer → Advanced Audio Properties.

  3. Find the Blerp source and set Audio Monitoring to Monitor and Output.

  4. Refresh the Blerp browser source (right-click → Refresh Cache of Current Page).

Using Streamlabs? Same steps, slightly different layout — find the browser source in your mixer, right-click, and look for Advanced Audio Settings.

Why Is the Redemption Going Through But No Sound Playing?

Even if the browser source is set up correctly, sounds won't play if the redemption is sitting in a queue waiting for manual approval.

Check this:

  • Go to your Blerp Account → Settings & Integrations in the top bar → Twitch Channel Points under the Viewer Interaction & Moderation Section

  • Is "Auto Fulfilled by Blerp" toggled on? If it's off, redemptions won't trigger until you manually accept them in the Twitch channel points queue.

Also check Twitch itself:

  • Go to Twitch Creator Dashboard → Viewer Rewards → Channel Points.

  • Find your Blerp reward and make sure "Skip Reward Request Queue" is enabled. Without this, Twitch holds the redemption in a queue rather than passing it to Blerp immediately.

Does Blerp Need to Be Running in OBS Specifically?

Blerp needs to be running as a browser source in OBS or Streamlabs, not just open in a regular browser tab.

A common mistake: having Blerp open in Chrome and in OBS. This can cause issues, including sounds not playing or playing twice.

Fix:

  • Close any Blerp browser tabs you have open.

  • Make sure the Blerp browser source is present and active in your current scene in OBS.

  • Right-click the browser source → Refresh Cache of Current Page.

Why Am I Hearing Doubled or Inconsistent Audio?

If sounds sometimes play and sometimes don't, or you're getting double audio, you might have two Blerp browser sources in your OBS setup.

How to check:

  • Click "Add Source" → Browser Source → "Add Existing." If you see Blerp listed more than once, you've got duplicates.

  • Delete the extras until only one Blerp source remains across all your scenes.

What If the Sound Volume Is Just Set Too Low?

It's possible the redemption is working fine — but the sound volume is set to zero.

Check this:

  • In Blerp's Channel Points tab, find the reward that's not playing.

  • Click the three-dot menu (···) → Edit Reward.

  • Make sure the volume slider isn't at zero.

  • Also check the default volume setting at the top of the Channel Points page — if it's set very low, all rewards will be near-silent.

Still Not Hearing Anything?

Run through this quick checklist before reaching out to support:

  • ✅ OBS audio monitoring set to "Monitor and Output" for Blerp source

  • ✅ "Auto Fulfilled by Blerp" is toggled ON in Blerp settings

  • ✅ "Skip Reward Request Queue" is enabled in Twitch's channel points settings

  • ✅ Browser source is active in OBS (not just open in Chrome)

  • ✅ No duplicate Blerp browser sources in OBS

  • ✅ Individual sound volume is above zero
