If you're not hearing Blerp sound alerts on your stream, or your viewers aren't either, it’s usually a simple fix. Whether you're using OBS Studio or Streamlabs, this guide will walk you through all the steps to make sure your Blerp audio is set up and working perfectly.
Step 1: Add the Blerp Browser Source Correctly
First, make sure you've added your Blerp browser source to your broadcasting software the right way.
- Go to your Blerp Dashboard and copy your browser source URL.
Once added, Blerp’s audio should be playing as part of your desktop audio.
Step 2: Separate Blerp’s Audio for Better Control
To avoid issues and control Blerp’s volume independently:
- In your browser source properties, turn ON “Control Audio via OBS/Streamlabs.”
- This separates Blerp’s audio from your desktop and places it in the mixer for easier control.
Step 3: Use the Audio Troubleshooting URL
If you’re still having trouble, activate Blerp’s audio troubleshooting tool:
- Go to your Blerp Settings > Browser Source.
- Toggle “Activate Troubleshoot Browser Source URL” ON.
- Copy the new URL and replace the original in your broadcasting software.
Step 4: Check Your Audio Monitoring Settings
Blerp may be playing but not reaching you or your viewers due to monitoring settings.
Audio Monitoring Modes:
- Monitor Off – Only your stream hears it.
- Monitor Only (Mute Output) – You hear it, stream doesn’t.
- Monitor and Output – Both you and stream hear it.
For OBS Studio:
- Click the gear icon in the Blerp audio source in the mixer.
- Select “Advanced Audio Properties.”
- Set Audio Monitoring to Monitor and Output.
Still Can’t Hear Blerp with “Control Audio via OBS” Enabled?
This feature can sometimes cause bugs affecting Blerp's audio. Here are some possible symptoms:
- No sound
- Alerts cutting off
- Distortion or echoes
- Volume issues
Fix the Monitoring Device Bug:
- In OBS, go to Settings > Audio, change the Monitoring Device to something else and hit Apply.
- Restart OBS.
- Go back and set the Monitoring Device to your correct device (headset/speakers/etc), then Apply again.
Viewers Can Hear Blerp, But You Can’t?
If only your viewers can hear the alerts, try the following:
Check Windows Volume Mixer:
- Right-click the speaker icon in your system tray.
- Open Volume Mixer and make sure OBS/Streamlabs isn’t muted.
Verify Monitoring Device in Settings:
OBS Studio:
- Go to Settings > Audio.
- Check if your Monitoring Device is set correctly.
Streamlabs OBS:
- Go to your Mixer settings.
- Open Global Settings and ensure your Audio Monitoring Device is correct.
