How do I add Blerp to my OBS?
The Blerp browser source needs to be added to your streaming software (e.g. OBS, Streamlabs, Twitch studio) in order to play on your stream so both you and your viewers can hear and see Blerp redemptions. Follow our guide here for step by step instructions on how to add Blerp to your OBS.
Do I have to be a Twitch Affiliate to use Blerp?
No, you do not need to be a Twitch affiliate in order to use the Blerp Twitch extension. Blerp offers two features, our bit redemptions, and the walk-on feature, both of which are available to use without requiring a Twitch affiliate status.
With Blerp, you can utilize the bit redemptions feature setting the bit redemptions to 0 bits, allowing viewers to use the feature without spending any bits. Additionally, you can also set cooldowns to prevent spam and maintain a more controlled environment for your viewers.
The walk-on feature is another exciting aspect of Blerp that can be used for free, regardless of your Twitch affiliate status. Walkon sounds will trigger upon the viewers entrance to your stream. Viewers can either request a walkon or you can assign walkons for viewers in your Blerp dashboard under the walkon tab by searching their username.
What is Blerp’s bit cut?
Subject to Twitch’s legal terms and policies, the streamer receives 80% and Blerp receives 20%. Bits earned via Blerp can take 1-2 days to reflect on your Twitch channel analytics. Third-party platforms like Streamlabs will not be able to track your bit revenue from Blerp because we are not integrated with Streamlabs. Want to earn more revenue? Check out our Blerp Universal Extension, streamers earn 30% more revenue than when they use a Twitch extension.
Why can't I hear the Blerp alerts / Why aren't my alerts showing up on stream?
If you haven’t already, you’ll need to add your Blerp browser source to your broadcasting software. The Blerp browser source needs to be added to your streaming software (e.g. OBS, Streamlabs, Twitch studio) in order to play on your stream so both you and your viewers can hear and see Blerp redemptions. See our guide on how to add Blerp to your OBS here.
If the audio isn't playing when viewers redeem a Blerp, try checking your Audio Monitoring settings in your broadcasting system. (OBS, Streamlabs) Audio Monitoring should be set to "Monitor and Output". Refer to this audio guide for instructions on how to change your Audio Monitoring settings
After you've set it to "Monitor and Output", refresh the cache of the browser source and restart your streaming program.
Why do I have duplicated audio when a reward is redeemed?
This is likely an issue on your end and there are a few possible reasons why it could be happening:
- The first thing to make sure is you don't have the Blerp browser source open in a web browser in addition to OBS / SLOBS.
- Next add a new browser source in OBS / SLOBS and view the "Add Existing" list. If you see two Blerps here you will need to delete Blerps from your scenes until this menu only shows one. After you may readd it to the other scenes via the Add Existing method.
- If you only see one blerp source it is possible that you may have mislabeled one that actually has the Blerp URL set. You can examine each of your browser sources to verify this is not the case.
- Next you will want to go to the properties screen of the Blerp browser source. See if control audio via OBS is selected. If it is you can uncheck it and verify you only hear the audio once.
- If you continue to desire to control audio via OBS please press the cog next to the individual volume monitor for Blerp in your OBS and go to advanced audio properties. Here you should see a drop down for Audio Monitoring. Test the Blerp Source with different settings here until the duplicated audio is resolved.
- Finally if you continue to have issues you can post a message in the relevant support channel
Why does my Blerp audio sound glitched/distorted?
Normally glitched audio is because of the browser source running out of CPU. There are guides online of how to give certain tasks higher priority but they should be navigated with care. Additionally capping game fps or lowering encoder quality can take strain off the CPU. Also, double checking your drivers to make sure they are fully updated (using the updater for your drivers, not windows) might help!
Viewers are playing sounds you didn’t feature on the Blerp extension?
If viewers are redeeming Blerps that are not part of the curated selection you’ve featured on your extension, it is due to the "viewer search" functionality being active. To disable this feature, you’ll need to navigate to your Blerp dashboard, proceed to the settings tab, and under the bits section, toggle the "viewer search rating" to the off position.
Why can’t my viewers share Blerps from my extension / Why do my Blerps say “suggest” on my extension?
To address this concern, we recommend following these steps to ensure proper functionality:
Verify that the "Bits" feature is enabled in your Blerp dashboard. This feature is essential for viewers to share Blerps.
If the "Bits" feature is enabled and viewers still can only suggest Blerps, please check your maturity rating settings under the settings tab and then access the "bits" section. Ensure that the viewer search and maturity ratings are configured according to your preferences.
If the issue persists, attempt to turn off the "Bits" feature and then reactivate it from your dashboard. This process may help to resolve any potential glitches.
